Talk About In-House Authors

From SF Signal:

Borders has apparently launched an Employee Author Program: if you're one of the bookstore chain's employees, you're qualified to join its contest to become a published author.

I have mixed feelings about this. On one hand, it's not like it's a publication company that gets outside help to write a book instead of giving the opportunity to one of its in-house writers (i.e. The Eberron's Campaign Setting). On the other hand, well, Nick Mamatas says it all. But honestly, there's probably a diamond in the rough. And if they win, all this hoopla is worth it.
