The local horror genre is quite popular in recent years. Here's a shelf devoted entirely to Philippine pulp horror.
Books are thankfully arranged alphabetically (by author) in Fully Booked. Samantha Henderson's Heaven's Bones is beside Frank Herbert's Dune.
Every time I visit a bookstore (any bookstore!), somebody always seems to be inquiring about Stephenie Meyer's Twilight books. Here's a shelf devoted to them and Christopher Paolini's Brisingr novels. Somewhere in between the vampires and dragons is James A. Owen's The Indigo King.
