Regarding the George R.R. Martin interview, ARD is the name of the TV network where the interview was broadcast. The interviewer is Dennis Scheck, one of our best literary critics (and the only one who's genre friendly). The name of the program is Druckfrisch, which translates as "hot from the presses". And yup, it's a very good interview. Made my day when I saw it on TV.
