Here's an article on Book[s] on Penguins Top 'Challenged' List and it gives us a quick summary of the nature of books that are being banned. I wonder if globalization helps stem book bans or encourages it? (As the ABA Omnibus points out, Banned Books Week is one month away.)
Overall, the number of "challenged" books in 2006 jumped to 546, more than 30 percent higher than the previous year's total, 405, although still low compared to the mid-1990s, when challenges topped 750.
