1) Do you remove the price tag from the books you buy?
Yes, you see, I'm the Queen of Price Tag Removal. When I remove tag prices, no traces of sticky is left behind.
2) When buying books, do you prefer them shrink-wrapped or open for all to see?
shrink-wrapped. But there must always be one book open for all to see, esp if it's an illustrated children's book.
3) Brand new books or second hand books?
Both are things of beauty.
4) American covers or European covers?
I'm indifferent.
5) Do you consider comics/manga as books (or count it against your books read)?
Yes, manga and comics are so books too! (because if not, I haven't read a real book since I graduated... oh wait, Harry Potter...)
6) Your favorite book by a Filipino author.
I'm woefully not very well-read in Filipino literature.
7) A novel you've read that's written in the local language with English being the exception.
I've read some ,but I can't remember the titles.
8) Your favorite local nonfiction book.
Twisted by Jessica Zafra
9) Do you have a discount/membership card to the bookstore you patronize?
Yes, I'm a privileged card member of Kinokunya Bookstore.
10) What's a book you're ashamed to tell others you bought/read?
Some of the cheesier Anne Rice stuff.
11) Name a book you bought because it was the current fad or because you watched a movie of the same name?
Harry Potter
12) Name a book you read before it later became trendy or fashionable to do so.
I don't know about book fads, realy.
13) Name a book that you read before it was required reading for your class.
Lualhati Bautista's novels.
14) In what language did you read the Noli me Tangere (komiks counts)?
Filipino
15) Did you ever use Cliff Notes or Barron's Book Notes in school?
I did Barron's Book Notes for Iliad. But that was because the book left me gibbering after I'd read it.
16) Do you know what month the annual Manila International Book Fair is held?
Um... September? I haven't the slightest idea.
17) What's the most expensive book you bought? How much?
Phoenix Rising (is that correct? Damn, I only bought this last year and I can't remember the title already!) because I bought it in hard cover.
18) What's the least expensive book you bought? How much?
Most of the Clive Barker novels I have, which I bought on second hand for about $4 each.
19) Have you ever stolen a book from the library?
No. I'm too nice.
20) Have you ever stolen a book from a bookstore?
No. Bookstores need the revenues.
21) Do you have a book that you borrowed that you still haven't returned?
I know I still have something here that belongs to Kalen...
22) Is there a religious text that you've read from cover to cover?
No.
23) Do you read book reviews?
Yes. Recently, I haven't been into browsing the bookstores for good reads so I depend on book reviews I get in my email to find my picks.
24) Do you believe that the New York Best-Seller List is actually a list of best-selling books?
Yes. But best-selling doesn't really mean intelligent. People sometimes confuse these two.
25) What is your favorite University Press (your choice) book?
I don't know.
