The Pacquiao Phenomenon

As talented as Manny Pacquiao and his fellow boxers are, they are only half as interesting compared to the Manny Pacquiao phenomenon. Whenever there's a match, it's typical for many Filipino households to be glued to their TV sets to the point that it has been suspected that the national crime rate actually goes down to 0% (sounds like something out of The Lottery except our sacrificial lamb is a boxer). As for malls, they tend to be deserted except for the fact that Pacquiao matches are also televised over there, either in movie theaters or in a large screen viewable by the public.

As for me, I didn't get to watch the match because of fatigue. Yesterday afternoon was my bookstore pilgrimage (2 pm - 5 pm), had to report for work because of the Shadowsfall concert (6 pm - 1 am; Yvette sent me a text message saying that my crush was wearing short shorts in a Drip performance), then went to my gaming group where we played DotA until the wee hours of the morning (2 am - 5 am).

Edit: Apparently, there were no crimes reported during the fight. However, shortly after the results were announced (due to the split decision), crime reverted to normal as "eight armed men robbed passengers of a Genesis bus along EDSA in Pasay City at around 12:30 p.m." How's that for a crime prompt?
