The First Filipino SF Collection?

Apparently, Jose Ma. Espino published a collection of short stories in 1999 entitled Orbit 21: Twenty-One Stories of Fantasy and Science Fiction (alternative link here).

Hmmm, not much information. I do know that a Filipino couple also published a SF novel a couple of years ago. I saw the book on the bookshelves of National.

If anyone who has a copy reading this, could you give us some info about it? Like a review or something. I'm very curious.

The price is listed as US $34.95 in the kabayancentral.com website. Are they frigging kidding us?

Normally self-published books are priced that high so I have a feeling it was via a vanity press.

Giraffe is not a vanity press. It's published by Gloria Rodriguez who, when she was with New Day, was the only publisher who dared to publish most of the Filipiniana we now consider classics today.

Ah, that's cool. Good to know. Still, that's a pretty pricey book. Is it listed how many pages there are?
